    MSABC runs the Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence (OSSE) / COR program for BC manufacturing and food processing. April 2026 Toxic Process Gas rules target ammonia, chlorine, and other process gases in food processing, refrigeration, water treatment, and pulp mills.     BC forestry runs SAFE Certified, not COR. Four tiers by company size. Different audit protocol, different documentation requirements than BCCSA. New respirator rules and ROPS seat-belt requirements from WorkSafeBC add another compliance layer for heavy-equipment operators.

How does the portal help with the WorkSafeBC 10 percent premium incentive?
The WorkSafeBC incentive pays qualifying COR-certified employers up to 10 percent off their annual premium, which is the largest employer safety rebate in Canada. Keeping it requires an active Certificate of Recognition, a maintained safety program, and a dated evidence trail that WorkSafeBC reviewers can examine. The Compliance Members Portal organises that evidence trail: your training records, inspection cadence, incident documentation, and certifying-partner audit-prep evidence all live in one dated, exportable workspace. The portal does not apply for the incentive on your behalf - the employer applies through WorkSafeBC directly. What the portal does is make the validation review a straightforward exercise instead of a week of searching for documents.
My operation uses MSABC, not BCCSA. Does the portal serve manufacturing certifying partners?
Yes. The Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC (MSABC) runs the Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence (OSSE), which is the BC manufacturing equivalent of COR. The audit-prep workspace pre-loads MSABC OSSE element codes so your evidence is organised against the framework your MSABC auditor will use. The Compliance Scheduler tracks MSABC-specific obligations including WHMIS training renewals, confined-space permit cycles, and the April 2026 Toxic Process Gas inspection schedules that are particularly relevant to food processing, refrigeration, and chemical manufacturing operations in BC. Our forestry operation runs SAFE Certified, not COR. Does the portal support SAFE?
Yes. BC forestry and resource operations run SAFE Certified through the BC Forest Safety Council (BCFSC), which uses a different protocol and four tier levels based on company size rather than the COR framework used in construction and manufacturing. The audit-prep workspace loads SAFE Certified element codes matched to your tier, so your evidence is organised the way a BCFSC auditor will look for it rather than against a COR framework that does not apply to your operation. WorkSafeBC regulatory updates relevant to forestry - including the new ROPS seat-belt requirements for heavy equipment and updated respirator rules - are pre-loaded into the regulatory update feed and Compliance Scheduler. Audit interpretation remains with the individual auditor; the portal prepares and organises your documentation.
What does the portal do about the new Toxic Process Gas rules that came into effect in April 2026?
