Emergency response plan
Keystone Plant - Site 4
Muster point
North gate, beside the first aid trailer
- 1. Stop work. Make the area safe if you can.
- 2. Call the supervisor. Call 911 for injury or fire.
- 3. Go to the muster point and wait for the head count.
Built for the first five minutes
The plan and the phone numbers. Not the worker’s file.
Other QR products put a worker’s medical details behind the code. Crews push back on that, and it is not what the first minutes of an emergency need. The person on the scene is a coworker, and what they need is the response plan, the muster point, and a supervisor who picks up. That is what this decal opens. The page is yours, on your own site or in your portal, so you decide what is on it and you can change it any time.
Nothing personal on the decal. No names, no medical alerts, no next of kin. One link per roll, pointing at company information the whole crew can share.

Questions we get asked
- What does the code open?
- Whatever link you paste when you design it. For the emergency decal that is normally your emergency response plan - the steps, the muster point, and the phone numbers for the site supervisor, management and first aid attendants. For the general QR decal it can be a training record, an orientation form, an equipment inspection checklist or a site page.
- Is any personal information on the decal?
- No. The decal carries your wording and a code to a page you control. We recommend the page holds the plan and the company phone list, not a worker's own details - that is the version workers accept, and it is what the first minutes of an emergency actually need.
- Do responders need an app?
- No. Every modern phone camera reads a QR code. Point it at the decal and tap the link that appears.
- What if the plan or the phone list changes?
- Update the page. The decal points at the link, not at the content, so a new supervisor or a revised plan never means reprinting the hard hats.
- Where should it go on the hard hat?
- Inside the shell or on the brim. Inside is out of the weather and is where a crew is told to look; the brim is faster to scan. Many companies do both - one roll covers a crew either way.
- Can it host the page for us?
- Not yet. Today you supply the link - a page on your own site, a PDF link, a Google Doc set to view-only, or a page in the On-Track Compliance Portal if you are a member. A hosted emergency plan page is on our roadmap; ask us and we will let you know when it is live.
- How durable is it?
- Self-adhesive vinyl rated for outdoor use - UV, rain and an Alberta winter on a hard hat. The code is printed at the highest error-correction level, so it still scans with a third of it scuffed off.
