Which defensive driving course, and can it remove demerits?
Two different jobs get called defensive driving here. One is fleet training for people who drive for work. The other is the AMA-certified demerit reduction course, which removes up to three demerit points from an Alberta licence - a different purchase for a different reason, and the only one on this page that changes anything on your driving record.

- AMA Demerit Reduction is Alberta-only, $114.99, and removes up to three demerits. Take your certificate to any Alberta registry.
- Demerit reduction can generally be used once in a set period. Confirm your own eligibility with a registry before you buy.
