About the course
What this course covers.
OSHA's Control of Hazardous Energy standard mandates training, inspections, and record-keeping so workers aren't injured by the unexpected start-up or release of energy during service or maintenance - this course covers all three.
It works through the three types of employees a lockout or tagout program recognizes, the difference between lockout and tagout, and the specific steps to apply and remove each - locks, tags, and the requirements for both.
It closes with the special cases the other lockout/tagout courses don't cover in this depth: group lockout and group tagout, handing off a lockout across a shift change, vehicle lockout/tagout, and what to do when the authorized person is unavailable.
