The North American Cargo Securement Standard sets out exactly how a load has to be tied down. This course is built for the driver who hauls a flatbed and has to get that right every time.
The course covers how the cargo securement standard was developed and is maintained, the types of securement device and the performance criteria they meet, how to inspect cargo, and the securement requirements for a flatbed load. It then works through the exemptions to the standard and the commodity-specific rules for dressed lumber, metal coils, paper rolls, concrete pipes, vehicles carried as cargo, and boulders.
