About the course
What this course covers.
A bulldozer moves enormous loads of material with a blade out front, working slopes, soft ground, and tight spaces where a misjudged push undercuts a bank or rolls the machine. This course trains an operator to run a dozer - track or wheel - with the stability and hazard awareness the machine demands.
The course covers an introduction to the bulldozer and its anatomy, what keeps the machine stable, the operations a dozer performs, and the hazards an operator faces. Quiz questions throughout prepare the operator for the final written exam, and the course covers both track and wheel dozers.
The course is the classroom portion of bulldozer operator training and comes with a checklist an employer uses for the required practical observation. Companies use it to qualify dozer operators and to give a documented training record.

What learners say
Trusted by Canadian crews
The stability section is the one that counts on a dozer - slopes and soft ground are where they roll. New operators finish this respecting that.
Lyle H.
Earthworks Supervisor
Clean classroom training with the practical checklist included. Our auditor accepts it as the operator record.
Trish M.
Safety Coordinator
Quick and covers the hazards properly. A fair refresher even after years pushing dirt.

Certificate and format
How the course runs
Your certificate
A mark of 80 percent earns the certificate, and the course can be taken up to three times to reach the pass mark. On completion the operator downloads and prints a certificate of completion valid for three years from the completion date, along with a checklist an employer uses for the required practical observation.
- Fully online and self-paced - about 60 minutes of content
- Covers both track and wheel dozers, written to the CSA B352 and M3471 standards
- Includes a practical observation checklist for the employer
- Mobile-friendly - start on a laptop, finish on a phone
- Pass mark is 80 percent, with up to three attempts
Why it matters for compliance
Occupational health and safety legislation requires that heavy equipment operators are trained and competent before they run a machine. This course is the classroom portion of bulldozer operator training and provides the documented record a COR auditor or a contractor pre-qualification platform looks for; a practical observation on the machine completes the certification.
